Tip #1.
Install a drip irrigation system or weeper hose. These are exempt from the current water restrictions and can be over 50% more efficient than surface applications.
Tip #2.
Raise your mower blades to ensure your grass grows a deeper root system to pull water from deep in the soil.
Tip #3.
Consider replacing thirsty plants with more drought-tolerant trees and shrubs. Natives are particularly hardy and can turn an otherwise withered space into a thriving landscape.
